Darker than Darkness

Waiting for the evening to set in The darkness signaled the beginning Of the night that was to be Nothing special with this one This sequence kept repeating The wine so smooth washed out the fear The impossible so much possible So one thought But the darkness changed not Still going with the same vigor The wine beginning to rule the body The hand reached for another Eyelids with the weight of stone Unable to see the path The darkness slowly setting in In eyes that struggled to open The conscious mind lost control Darkness everywhere Did midnight look so dark? Body stone dead, with heavy breath Still alive, vegetable like Hmmm, the wine had done it again!
