The Lone Ranger

Through ups and downs Of life’s mountains and valleys People come and go But the lone ranger learns to go on Sadness taken in stride Flaunting the happiness and joys The face reveals and hides at will The expressions of life’s offerings Success, like a fickle mistress Failure, the misgivings of an unwilling bride Tears the final frontier For both sadness and joy The soul lets out a silent scream Amidst the din of mankind The birth wish comes crumbling down In rubble that none see The lone ranger wanders alone Searching a barren desert The soul mate like a mirage appears As the illusion mocks and laughs All the achievement seems hollow In a meaningless empty life The lone ranger quenches the thirst From the mirage’s last illusionary drop.
